Spend 3 weeks studying the ancient Greeks on site and earn 6 credits during Summer 2010.
Classes
The course is an introduction to ancient Greek culture through the physical remains. As such, the course will emphasize archaeology and history as the context in which art, architecture, and literature occurs. We will tour sites in Greece and relate them to relevant texts and study materials. This survey will take place in the multi-layered context of Greece's past and its modern culture.
The course counts for 6 semester credits ( CLA 2454 and CLA 3954). The course will include site visits, regular class meetings, required reading and writing assignments.
The itinerary will consist of four distinct parts. See highlights listed on right sidebar.
