Study in France

The French Program and the Pamplin College of Business have combined to offer students a variety of options. We have partnered with two schools in France: the Institut National des Télécommunications in Evry (near Paris) and the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Dijon (ESC-D).

Summer study at the INT

Semester or year-long study at the INT

Study during the regular academic year requires strong grades in business courses (no less than a 3.0 GPA to be considered) and an advanced level in French (no less than 3105-6 plus two additional 3000-level courses). This option is available to students in any major of the Pamplin College of Business, but is best suited to Business and Information Technology (BIT) and Marketing majors. Students in other majors should nevertheless consider this option as it will greatly enhance their education. Students who are majoring in International Studies and pursuing the business option are also eligible.

Semester-long study at the INT usually takes place in the fall. For year-long programs, students have the option of either attending for an academic year or for a calendar year. In both cases, students have the possibility of an internship in France.

Students pay $325 program fee plus regular Virginia Tech tuition and fees.

For information about curricular matters related to the business side of this program contact Dean Tarun Sen tksen@vt.edu and for information about French contact Richard Shryock shryock@vt.edu.

Semester Study in Business at ESC-D

Students may spend a semester studying business in French or English at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Dijon. Dijon offers the possibility for students to study business in French or English. For more information click here.

Five-year BS-MS Program with the INT

This option is available to Marketing and BIT majors. Students pursue the regular course of study at Virginia Tech for these two majors and take French courses for the first three years. They spend the next two years studying at the INT and doing internships. At the conclusion of five years, they will be awarded a BS from Virginia Tech in business and an MS from the INT.

For information about curricular matters related to the business side of this program contact Dean Tarun Sen tksen@ vt.edu and for information about French contact Richard Shryock shryock@ vt.edu.

Dual-degree program MBA-MIM with the INT
Students earn both a Master of Business Administration from Virginia Tech and a Master of Science in International Management from the INT. Students must qualify for admission to both schools and be accepted in the program. They must complete at east three semesters of full-time academic work at Pamplin and at least two semesters, full-time, at the INT. An internship must be included. For more information contact Dean contact Dean Stephen Skripak.
Summer Internships in France
These are available to VPI&SU students only. A limited number are offered each summer through the ESC-D. For more information click here.
