French 1106 Guèye, Baek, Kenney, Ryan
PRE: 1105 (or the equivalent). Meets 9:05-9:55, 10:10-11:00 and 12:20-1:10 MWF
French 2106: Intermediate French Mizutani-Rousseau
PRE: 2105 (or the equivalent). Meets 9:05-9:55, 10:10-11:00 and 1:25-2:15 MWF
French 2164: Intermediate Business French Mizutani-Rousseau
This course emphasizes all four language skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening)
by focusing on various facets of the world of business and technology. It also develops students'
understanding of French institutions and business practices. PRE: 2105 (or the equivalent). Meets 11:15-12:05 MWF.
French 3106: Grammar, Composition, and Conversation Joseph, Noirot-Maguire
Practice in communication skills in French to improve students'
ability to read, write, speak and understand the French language. In addition, students
will learn more about French and Francophone cultures through spoken, written and visual media. PRE: FR 2106, 2164 (or the equivalent).
Meets 10:10-11:00, 11:15-12:05 and 12:20-1:10 MWF.
French 3126: Oral Proficiency Johnson
This course will help students speak
French better using appropriate idiomatic expressions and correct grammar.
PRE: FR 3105, 3106 and 3125, or admission by oral interview. Meets 11:15-12:05 MWF.
French 3206: French Culture and Civilization Teulon
A study of French culture and civilization from the French Revolution to the present. PRE:
FR 3106. Meets 9:30-10:45 and 11:00-12:150 TR.
French 3304: Introduction to French Literature Joseph
Through studies of various literary genres, students will be introduced to
literary terms, analytical techniques, and reading strategies.
PRE: FR 2106 or 2164. FR 3105 strongly recommended. Usually taken with 3106.
Meets 4:00-5:15 and 5:30-6:45 MW
French 3306: Survey of French Literature Guèye
Readings in French literature from the
18th century to the present to acquaint students with literary techniques and contexts.
PRE: FR 3105-06 and FR 3304. Meets 2:30-3:45 MW
