As a land grant university, one of Virginia Tech’s mandates is to respond to the needs of the citizens of Virginia. In keeping with the mission of Virginia Tech, the Intensive Second Language Institute (ISLI) was conceived as an outreach program for the professional enrichment of Virginia educators. The program is also open to both undergraduate students of Virginia Tech as well as to graduate students pursuing an advanced degree in a related field.
