Definitions for ISLI Credit Determination


PLEASE NOTE: The Graduate School requires a $45.00 processing fee for ALL types of applications/credits.
When applying, you will need to send an official transcript.

ISLI CREDITS MAY BE USED IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

For professional certification, recertification
or endorsement (Non-Degree):  Your grade will be Pass/Fail and these graduate credits are only applicable for (re)certification or endorsement, and cannot be counted towards a degree program.

For the M.A. Ed. or Ph.D. in the College of Education, Virginia Tech.  You will need to formally apply for acceptance into the program.  Your ISLI grades must be A-F, and these graduate credits will be available to be used towards the degree now or later.  They will also count for (re)certification or endorsement credit. 

For the “Commonwealth Campus” Option:  Allows qualified students to enroll in graduate work at Virginia Tech and earn up to 12 graduate credit hours.  In this application option, your ISLI grades will be A-F and the credits may be applicable towards a degree at Virginia Tech or at another institution, provided that the program in question approves the credits.  Commwealth Campus credits will also count towards certification, recertification or endorsement.

For Undergraduate Advanced Credit: 
For advanced undergraduate students, permission
is required from the Director.

Two-step Application Process:
-Apply to the Program (Program application deadline April 15, 2009)
-Apply to the Graduate School (Grad. School application deadline May 30, 2009
