Master of Arts in Foreign Languages, Cultures, and Literatures (FLCL)

MA - MAEd Simultaneous Degrees (with K-12 licensure)

Those who wish to earn degrees in second language education and in Hispanic or French-Francophone Studies may pursue both the MA and MAEd simultaneously. Up to 15 hours of coursework may be counted toward both degrees.

The program includes licensure for K-12 teaching in Virginia (also recognized in 37 other states). Those who complete both degrees will also be qualified to teach French or Spanish at a community college or university. Graduates may also wish to pursue a PhD program in the language or in education.

This simultaneous degree program may be completed in under three years of full-time enrollment, including some summer courses.
