Programs of study
The MA in FLCL at Virginia Tech requires 30 semester credit hours. Students may either complete 30 hours of coursework and take a comprehensive master’s examination based on a reading list, or complete 24 hours of coursework plus 6 research credits and write a master’s thesis.
Full-time students normally will complete the program in two years.
Students may choose among three areas:
- French and Francophone Studies,
- Hispanic Studies, or
- Multilingual Studies combining French and Spanish, or either of these languages with German.
