Welcome to the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Virginia Tech. The Russian Studies Program at Virginia Tech provides an opportunity for students to become familiar with the history, culture, politics, and language of the world's largest country. In addition to the Russian Language Minor (housed in this department), a Russian Area Studies Minor (housed in the History Department: http://www.history.vt.edu/UDGRASMinor.htm) is also available. Students interested in acquiring in-depth expertise in the Russian field are encouraged to pursue these two minors in tandem.
