Study Abroad
The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures offers a variety of study abroad programs. Faculty-led programs usually take place in the summer, and, as the name suggests, a member of the department's faculty accompanies the group abroad. The professor may be responsible for all or part of the instruction. Exchanges, involve an exchange agreement between Virginia Tech and the cooperating university abroad. Typically, these are semester- or year-long programs on which all of the instruction is provided entirely by the host institution.
The College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences offers a Spring 2010 program at its European Center in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland.
